Silk is a protein fibre produced naturally with exceptionally fine filaments held together by lightly twisting the yarn. This process is called throwing.

Crepe de Chine, is a lightweight, plain-woven fabric made using highly twisted yarns. The twisted fibres alternate ‘S’ and ‘Z’ shapes, thus creating a subtle puckered effect.
